Der Chiphersteller AMD hat mit der AMD Catalyst Omega Edition eine neue Generation von Grafiktreibern eingeführt. Der neue Treiber unterstützt neue Funktionen, behebt zahlreiche Fehler und beinhaltet diverse Neuerungen, Verbesserungen und Leistungsverbesserungen, die sich weiter unten einsehen lassen. Der neue Omega Treiber lässt sich über die offizielle Webseite ab sofort für die Grafikkarten der AMD Radeon R9 200, R7 200, HD 8000, HD 7000, HD 6000 und HD 5000 Serie für Desktop-PCs herunterladen. Auch die Omega-Edition des AMD Mobility Catalyst für die Grafikkarten der AMD Radeon R9 M200, R7 M200, R5 M200, HD 8000M, HD 7000M, HD 6000M und HD 5000 Serie wurde zum Download freigegeben. Beim AMD Catalyst Mobility handelt es sich um eine für Notebooks angepasste Version des AMD Treibers. Der neue Omega Treiber ist unter Windows 7, 8 und 8.1 lauffähig und kann ab sofort heruntergeladen werden.
