Paint.NET Version 4.0.9 ist ab sofort erhältlich
Der Entwickler Rick Brewster der kostenlos erhältlichen Bildbearbeitungs-Software Paint.NET hatte letzte Woche ein größeres Update mit diversen Neuerungen und Verbesserungen veröffentlicht. Nun lässt sich über die offizielle Paint.NET Webseite ab sofort ein weiteres Update für die kostenlos erhältliche Software herunterladen und installieren. Mit diesem Update werden ausschließlich Fehler behoben, die in Version 4.0.8 gefunden wurden. Das 7 Megabyte große Update mit der Versions-Nummer 4.0.9 erfordert Windows 7 mit SP1 oder neuer mit .NET Framework 4.6 und kann ab sofort sowohl über die interne Update Funktion von Paint.NET, die über den Zahnrad -> Updates -> Jetzt prüfen zu erreichen ist, als auch über die offizielle Website von Paint.NET heruntergeladen und installiert werden. Die Version 4.0.9 enthält die folgenden Neuerungen und Verbesserungen:
This is an update that fixes a few crashes and bugs that were found in 4.0.8.
- Fixed: Selection tools would sometimes crash.
- Fixed: Line/Curve tool would draw nothing if the Shapes tool was configured for "Draw Filled Shape".
- Fixed: Thumbnails for .PDN files were not working on some systems.
- Fixed: The "Finish" button in the toolbar would not update its enable/disable state when switching between images.

- Fixed: Labels on the vertical ruler were misleading because they were on the wrong side of the tick mark

- Fixed: Edit->Copy now works if the data copied to the clipboard is larger than 2GB
- Fixed: Page Up, Page Down, Home, and End keys now work in the main canvas area
- Fixed: Paint.NET will no longer incorrectly block Windows from restarting
- Fixed: Rotate/Zoom no longer crashes on very large images
- Improved: Reduced CPU/GPU and battery use when the app is not in the foreground
- Improved: Reduced CPU and battery use of the UI for the Move and Shapes tools
- Added: Custom Shapes XAML now supports cardinal splines via PolyCurveSegment (a new PathSegment type)

- Fixed: Several rare or uncommon crashes

- .NET Framework 4.5 is now required, and will be installed if needed.
- A dual-core (or more!) processor is highly recommended.
- Hardware acceleration (GPU) via Direct2D is now supported.
- Please disable this in the Settings dialog if you experience visual artifacts.
Paint.NET -> Beschreibung
Paint.NET ist eine Bildbearbeitungs- Software, die an der Washington State University und bei Microsoft entwickelt wurde. Ursprünglich sollte Paint.NET lediglich eine erweiterte Version von Microsoft Paint sein. Durch ständige Erweiterung bietet das Programm mittlerweile Funktionen wie z. B. das Arbeiten mit Ebenen, welche aus Adobe Photoshop oder GIMP bekannt sind. Auch die Bedienung ähnelt der von Adobe Photoshop.
