Oracle hat im Laufe des Abends das Update 71 und 72 für Java SE 7 für Windows, Mac, Linux und Solaris veröffentlicht und zum Download bereitgestellt. Das Update 72 für Java SE 7 beinhaltet einige Neuerungen und Verbesserungen, schließt unter anderem auch 25 schwerwiegende Sicherheitslücken und enthält alle früheren Updates. Auch wenn Oracle nun zwei Version zur bereitstellt, empfiehlt der US-Konzern, dass alle Java SE 7-Benutzer unbedingt das CPU Release installieren. Durch Installation dieses Updates wird gewährleistet, dass die Java-Anwendungen weiterhin so sicher und effizient ausgeführt werden wie immer. Wer auf seinem Rechner eine ältere Java Version installiert hat, sollte das Java SE 7 Update 72 umgehend installieren. Das Update kann über die Update Funktion oder über die Oracle Webseite geladen werden.
Alle Benutzer, die auf dem Rechner das Update 67 oder älter installiert haben, werden aufgefordert das Java SE 7 Update 71 und 72 so schnell wie möglich zu installieren, entweder über die in Java integrierte Update Funktion oder durch den Download über den Download Center. What is the difference between a Java CPU (7u71) and PSU (7u72) release?
- Java SE Critical Patch Updates (CPU) contain fixes to security vulnerabilities and critical bug fixes. Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE users upgrade to the latest CPU releases as they are made available. Most user should choose this release.
- Java SE Patch Set Updates (PSU) contain all of the security fixes in the CPUs released up to that version, as well as additional non-critical fixes. Java PSU releases should only be used if you are being impacted by one of the additional bugs fixed in that version.
